British TM organisation raises coherence efforts to smooth economic transition

Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Great Britain observes: "We are in the midst of a process of major financial adjustment, shaking the largest financial institutions of every country to the roots, including in Great Britain. We have an absolutely unique tool, a special gift from Maharishi, to help Britain and every country at this time." On 9 October, Victory Day, Vijaya Dashmi, a new programme, was launched in Great Britain to make our nation integrated and invincible.

Maharishi Channel moves to all-Internet broadcasts

Since 1 November the Maharishi Channel has been entirely broadcast via an improved, high quality Internet service. Although broadcasting via the Internet is more economical than via satellite, it still carries a significant cost and it is essential to the continuity of the service that viewers contribute by subscribing.

Coherence builds in Suffolk

Paul Kember, Teacher of Transcendental Meditation and resident of Maharishi Garden Village in Suffolk, informed his local newspaper in August about the latest research on Transcendental Meditation. This resulted in the double-page spread in the East Anglian Daily Times Life magazine, featured on the front cover of this issue and entitled "Tuning into the sound of silence"

Doctoral degrees

During the Raja training programme that Raja Peter and Mother of the Domain Deirdre attended from January 2004 for four years, Maharishi placed a great emphasis on the Rajas gaining the knowledge of higher states of consciousness, the knowledge of enlightened administration, on both the experiential level and the intellectual level. Amongst many other activities during this period, Raja Peter and Deirdre wrote a full doctoral thesis, which was assessed by Maharishi and Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam.

Latin America: 10,000 begin course on 27 October to become Yogic Flyers

27 October 2008 was a day of unprecedented historic significance for Latin America. On that day, nearly 10,000 individuals in six countries in Latin America began instruction in Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme, which includes Yogic Flying.

Brain specialist demonstrates EEG coherence to large audiences in Europe

Dr Alarik Arenander, Director of the Brain Research Institute at Maharishi University of Management, Iowa, USA, recently toured countries in northern Europe, demonstrating increased brain wave coherence during the practice of Transcendental Meditation.

Global Financial Capital of New York plays its intended role

On 8 July this year, after the completion of extensive refurbishments and with perfect timing to play the role envisaged for it by Maharishi, its founder, a grand opening ceremony took place for the Global Financial Capital of New York. It was from these premises that Dr John Hagelin spearheaded the recent approaches to the distressed financial institutions, as described on page 4 of this issue.

USA achieves Super-Radiance with help of over 1,000 Vedic Pandits

"The goal set by Maharishi has now been achieved," announced Raja Robert Wynne, Raja of Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, on 27 September: "This week we will have more than 1,000 Vedic Pandits in America." The Super-Radiance figure for the USA was achieved on 24 March and since 20 July has been exceeded without a single day’s exception to date.

David Lynch and Donovan bring joy in Brazil

A recent eight-day tour of Brazil by filmmaker David Lynch and singer Donovan has resulted in exciting developments in the spread of Maharishi’s knowledge in that country. One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to a school in Belo Horizonte where 3,500 children assembled in the gymnasium to honour David Lynch and Donovan, and express their gratitude for the gift of meditation.
